A-2 Thread Colors

I've seen olive drab (OD) and kahki thread used on A-2s. When did the use of these colored threads start? Where they used on both goatskin and horsehide? Thanks

OD/khaki thread appears to have first been used on A2s on late 1941. Jackets from the RW 23380 contract (cow hide) from 26th December 1941 sometimes have this thread. It was used extensively on the Dubow 27798 (horse/goatskin) contract from 25th April 1942, was often used in the 27752 RW contract (27/4/42) and was used extensively in the Poughkeepsie (cow hide) contract from 18th May 1942. The vast majority of A2s were sewn together with various shades of brown thread.
