Another great looking patch patch Sean! These guys don't get much recognition or the credit that they deserve. The 5th ERS Squadron (Emergency Rescue Squadron) Flew out of Halesworth, England... using "war weary" P-47's to drop inflatable life rafts and survival gear, to downed airmen in the Channel. This photo shows the survival canister under the left wing, and the sea dye marker canister located under the fuselage towards the tail. These guys did a great job in saving lives during the war...
