320th Bomb Squadron Patch - Straight off the printer..

Gents,

Should have just saved all the time and effort and got one of the newest offerings!

There is debate whether the painted 320th patch was actually worn during the war. Discussed this offline with Simon in the lead up to the final work. The embroidered patch was more prevalent and I ended up going with a unique blend of the two, unlike any other on the planet. Might see a printed version down the line.

Interesting to see Miro get a mention in the listing. Miro popped one up on his page the day that Simon commenced the artwork. That was pure coincidence. Not sure if the 'homage' printed series, exclusively mentioning Miro is any coincidence at all. Miro should get royalties on the newly printed offerings?

Good for stocking fillers I suppose, or drink coasters.

No way, hand crafted will top printed any day

It won't come as any surprise that these printed patches don't do anything for me. Now if they were producing high resolution water slide decals for those units that had used them in wartime, I would be battering down the door. That's something I may have a crack at one day. I have played around with water slide decals for other projects in the past but unless you have a specialist white ink printer, then the designs you can tackle are limited.

I have an image in my database of the painted 320th BS patch on an original A-2. It looks contemporary but of course, could have been a post war addition.

I personally think its looks like its airbrushed which give the ambience of the 1990s .They were either decal , leather painted or pieced together . People go on about how A2jacketpatches are so good and are the best .To me they do not have the Naivety of the period . He should be designing and making patches for motorcycle clubs that where he would excel , his forte the patches should be on the back of motorcycle club jacket owners.Or he should be making his money or for modern day warfare soldiers morale patches etc . I never rated his patches as accurate ,excellent workmanship yes , but off the mark as to regards of WW 2 theater . His patches are usually bought by people how do not know better !.

100% agree and have said the same thing myself. Steve (Micawber’s) patches - of which i have a treasured one myself - are much more authentic

Interestingly, I had a talk with Miro on this subject. Although he is mentioned in the eBay add, he never was contacted by Sean or asked approval, whatever... To me, it's just a proper rip-off, and another stone to his shitty behavior.

I painted my version of that patch, Sean took my photo from the internet and print it.....

But that is not single example. About 10 more, prints of my patches, are on listing in his ebay. He remouved watermarks in photoshop and simple print them.

Here is version that I painted and print of my patch that Sean sells.

Best regards,
Miro

If you stumble around and find it, would love to see it some day...

Why are you stealing other peoples designs especially ones with water marks . You are a very tacky business man, that the sort of things that the Chinese do . I do not wish you well .

I put in about the Chinese because his wife is Chinese and will niggle him

Not stealing, doing the same thing he does with the exception and courtesy of giving him credit and offering a royalty, very fair compared. Do not need best wishes from you, we do very well and always have. Feel free to extend an invitation out to "Nostalgic Aviator" to provide me his Paypal info...second hand via one of his remaining followers or whatever. It is an unfortunate situation where he's alienated himself from the market due to stealing from many artists and not offering the courtesies I have. The very limited and outdated platforms he frequents these days along with the other elusive characters makes it difficult to communicate with him. Otherwise please move on or maybe visit VLJ / Vintage Leather Jackets Forum online...at some point back months ago they went on for weeks justifying this kind of thing for him. But likely, in their eyes it is now not OK for someone else. Frankly, it's like a hen house there and I can't keep up with it, don't much care anyway.

She's Thai you dumass...

PS
SO THAT TELLs ME HE VISITS THE FORUM WITH THAT LAST COMMENT BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL MESSAGE DID NOT ELUDE TO HIS WIFE AT ALL . I wont lower myself down to his level so I have removed some of the comment I made previously . But I have to say some of the emails he sent to my eBay email have been quite offensive and very childish in nature . I GUESS THIS IS HIS WAY OF DEFENDING HIS POSITION WHICH IS ONE OF GUILTY OF STEALING DESIGNS. Kill the messenger Miro should report him to eBay for stealing his artwork and profiting off it . I know he is able to read this on the forum even though he is banned but he keeps up to date with what is happening but is not able to counter . For me the issue is dead I said what I had to say I hate thief's especially one's that deny it when they get caught . I never had any thing to do with him while I was on the forum guess that's a good thing .

I’ve never been overly impressed with his prints, I’ve owned a couple and they were very cheap in my opinion. I will not give him anymore of my business now that I know he rips them off.

Yes he said that in some of his messages to me on eBay ,it was a tirade of ranting . He called me a racist a Democrat and said he was putting in a complaint to Nathan and to stay away from his place of business . Like they say when you are on target your going to take flack .There is enough business for every one why the need to steal from others ,he hates you because he is so insecure . This is the last I will say on this ,but Miro you should put a complaint into Ebay he is stealing the fruits of your labor .

That's what I told him too, file a complaint with eBay. Pretty sure this will not change anything, but at least it's worth a try.

Looks like Sean is getting more angry and bitter by the minute. What a thieving, lying asshole...

I would love to be a great and kind human being and differentiate between the man's work and his attitude...but I can't. I got de-friended over at FB, because I posted fact checks to some of the posts in his private profile. ....he replied in a lengthy rant, which was kinda funny, as I wasn't allowed to read it, anymore.

Even before that, I got personal messages on FB for being a critic to the "printing business" here at VLJ. Actually, he always used a mixture between comradery ("We few pros in the patch business..."), psychological mind-f**s ("I expected sooo much more from you...") and blunt scare tactics ("I know everything that's going on over at VLJ...").

Was a bit creepy, to be honest....

That type of language is almost narcissistic

For all of the graces of the intimate knowledge of all things flying gear and the streamlined command of the English language (and that extends to non-native speakers as well) on here and other jacket forums, it’s really bewildering at how brainless some of these PMs get...really going down to 2D. Like, from a Maserati to a 1988 Datsun pickup with a worn out Dukakis sticker on it.

There are some truly wonderful, salt of the earth folks on here and elsewhere. That is evident. But also a host of total head cases.I guess it’s an accurate representation of life itself.
