i have read it too in younger years and while I quite liked it back then I have grown a bit more sceptic toward it over the years.
bear in mind when it was written and by whom. I am sure there was a certain agenda behind it back then.

for all air war on the Eastern Front related topics I prefer the works of Christer Bergström now.
he may not be everyone's cuppa but his are seriously well researched books that come up with different views and opinions and crash some certain well established myths as well.

to come to the jacket, that is really a nice one!

I know what you mean, but on the other hand I doubt that a modern book about that topic would be written more "authentic" or impartial for some reason. I think you just have to think behind the curtain here and there while reading.

case in point for me is their Deck Hook jacket.
following the recommendation on HPA and being able to try the one I ended up buying at Fardins shop, I ended up with a size 42 (yes they run that large!)
on a sidenote, the BR N-1 I have is a few seasons older and is sized as XXLarge (yes, those seem to run trim)

newer Deck Hooks are a bit smaller though and the size 42 feels much more trim on me than the one I own.

same with the light weight jackets I have grown quite fond of.
L-2s on me vary between size L or 42 while the new NASA jacket I got is a size 40!!!!!
the 37J1 I have is a size 44 but feels like a laaarge ELC G-1 in 46....

I know :) these hook decks are great jackets, the only thing I don't really like is the collar, or the lack of a proper collar on those jackets. the N-1 is much better in that regard....

not a jacket....

Was on the lookout for a C-2 sweater when last week Bronson emailed they had been restocked.
Gambled a size 42, based on their sizing and guess what, lucky guess.
Pretty pleased with the sweater. Nice and warm, not too thick or heavy and most important affordable.

Front cam on the phone is crap, sorry for that.

Yeah, I realize I don't actually know much about Erich Hartmann. I know the broad outlines, but I suppose German propaganda may have told a story a little different from reality. I'm not questioning his victories, but I'd be curious to know about his actual combat experience.

Thanks :) I've owned this B-6 for just over a year and must have worn it about 50-70 times.
The sheepskin is very supple and this jacket is really easy to wear.

looks good on ya. I used to have a BR C-2 but it was so scratchy it drove me mad and i got rid of it. is the bronson one itchy and scratchy?

Looks great! Waiting on my Bronson C-2 to arrive as well. Hopefully it fits as nicely.

Nope, not at all.
Was a bit worried myself, can't stand itchy fabrics. But fear not... Bronson C-2 is warm and cuddly soft.


@coolhandluke Size is pretty correct.
Got the email and ordered the next minute, making sure I got one.
Measured the sweater I was wearing at work.
Matching the Bronson size tables and spot on.
