I've had my Goodwear Doniger just under a year now. The smell described came with it, but it is long gone now. I kinda miss it.

I have a Mark 41 in 42 short. I should have gotten a 40 by the way it fits, but it's now a jacket I could fit a lot of clothing underneath. Maybe see if you can have them send you two, one in your normal size and one size down. Then ship back the one that doesn't fit well. I think you'll find...

Great Jacket!!! You won't be disappointed. It came a bit snug, I wore constantly (in the rain when I could) then it molded itself to my body and truly became "my" jacket. Enjoy it! Chris M.

Looks to me like the first and second shot show a jacket with no wind flap. Maybe not a USAAF spec. A-2?
