Thanks for the replys on my jacket , I didnt spot the different stitching I need a trip to specsavers . I think it is quite original apart from that . Why would anybody go to the trouble of fitting a period zip ?

I think my jacket is original , the Aero zip company was formed in Wales by a jewish man who escaped from Germany in about 1938 . The Government at the time took control of the business for the war effort

Hi , I have a ww2 irvin jacket which is in sound condition , however the main zip is Aero (looks original) . On checking it appears that Aero made zips for the war effort from a factory in Wales . I assume they must have been fitted to the Irvin jacket . Any info on this would be grateful as it...
