What jacket(s) are you wearing at the moment?

Thanks, Burt! It's still new & stiff, but is slowly beginning to show signs of taking shape. I have a LONG way got go before it gets pliable & broken in.

Too many options for one man. A-2 options discussed.

Wedge- Like many here, I was in your situation. I bought a goatskin Avirex A-2 in 1988 and it has served me well for over 30 years. When Covid hit & I was forced to shelter in place, I watched every episode of "12 O'clock High" and got the bug for a seal horsehide A-2. This led me to VLJ and to...

On the Merits of the Aero 38-1711-P

Thanks "e"! The sleeves do creep up a bit when I bend my arms & I'm hoping that they will stretch as well when the hide breaks in & softens. I too, was hesitating & vacillating (I thought the sleeves were 1" too short, the P2p 1" too big & the length 1' too long), but finally took a chance &...

On the Merits of the Aero 38-1711-P

Thanks Cabbie! It is a VERY nice jacket and I can't think of anything else I could possibly want in another A-2 or any other flight jacket. From now on, my back is going to be covered breaking this one in & wearing it long afterwards. At my age & point in life: "It's not having what you want...

On the Merits of the Aero 38-1711-P

I was the one who ended up buying @Silver Surfer 's jacket (He's a GREAT guy to deal with, BTW.) After spending a day with it, I must say that Medium's review is absolutely DEAD ON. As he mentioned, the fit & drape is a bit quirky as it's (almost too) tight in the shoulders and noticeably loose...

Original Jackets vs. Repros; what are your thoughts?

Burt- You know that I would put that P-38 up on Gunbroker faster than you could say "Parabellum" (Especially in this current inflated market!) But if it was a Pachmayr Combat Special or Devel Gammon, that would be an entirely different story... That baseball would mean absolutely nothing to me...
