I ordered one a few years ago. I asked for 24 inch sleeves and it came with 26 and this added feature. Sorry, it didn't come close to my Aero, Langlitz or Goodwear. I sent it back and went to another vendor. But obviously you've had better luck. fedoralover

zip just says scovill. I knew it wasn't from as far back as the 60s but I thought it might have still been a government issue at one time. They even punched in the USN on the storm flap. It's actually a nice looking jacket, mostly because of the nice graining in the leather. I'm wondering how...

Well I believe I just answered my own question. In doing some extra research I found this is just a reproduction. Spiewak never made G-1s. Still it fits great and looks pretty decent, I just wish the collar was a different color. fedoralover

I just found this G-1 at Goodwill and am not sure of it's age. It's in great condition, leather is definitely goat and has some fantastic grain in it. But it feels rather thin compared to the other two I have. I'm sure the collar is Mouton but it's kind of a natural color. Has a wimpy Scovill...

Thanks for the info on the white powder. You may be correct as it was really hard to wipe off, like it was embedded in the leather. BTW are you going to have a booth at the Expo in 2 weeks?? If so I'll see you there. Fedoralover

After reading this thread and this info by Atticus I went to the local Harley Dealer and bought some. I have a vintage jacket that started getting a white powdery looking substance on it. I am assuming it was a type of mold. I tried just rubbing it off and putting on Lexol but it came back...

Called Langlitz today and talked to a very friendly staff member. He confirmed it was goat and that with all the upgrades on this jacket it would cost $985 to buy today. Very pleased to say the least. fedoralover

I've looked at hundreds of leather jackets in goodwill over the years and 99.9% of them are made in Pakistan,China,India or Korea and a few other assorted places. This is the first high end jacket I've found. For being over 11 years old it's in almost new condition. Langlitz's website is down...
