    Roughout advice?

Also, you can still purchase those NOS WWIi nylon laces, in quantity for a song. They seem pretty strong. They’re listed as 40 inch laces but I guess they’re a little longer. - Ian

    Roughout advice?

You’re welcome. As I mentioned, I hadn’t noticed them being a bit wide, but, conversely, your feet certainly don’t feel cramped in them. On a side note, Roughouts are comfortable from the first day. I think it’s just the nature of the leather. - Ian

Hello old friend: Goodwear Knopf 42-18246-P A-2

That’s a fine looking A-2! In the past, I thought of getting a Knopf no-name contract. I would have ordered one in 2010, when John made my Bronco, but I knew even less about A-2’s then (even though the Bronco is a great jacket). The Knopf no-name would have been perfect for my body shape...

    Roughout advice?

I agree with Burt. Their U.S. made boots due run true to size, from my experience. They may be slightly wide, though I hadn’t really noticed it, so I suppose it’s minor. I mention it like that since I do have somewhat narrow feet and when it’s an option I choose the narrow width in shoes and...

Correction ( and a little embarrassment as well)

It’s a goddamn nice jacket, Burt! It’s even better to know that it’s a Good Wear, in case you ever want to part with it. On top of that, this shows that you’re probably a better member than most of us deserve to have in our ranks, including me. - Ian

    Leather Palmed Gloves

You’re quite welcome! I’m very happy to be of help. I’m really not so knowledgeable when it comes to leather jackets...not like most of the guys on here, anyhow. But, I do have knowledge as far as other aspects of U.S. military clothing from WWII and also some other items such as watches and...

    Leather Palmed Gloves

My source is Charles Lemons series of books on the U.S. Army Ground Forces in WWII. It’s volume 7, part 2. I’ll see if I can get a good picture of the list, put it on Imgur and post it here. - Ian

Mint Original Hungarian Mig Pilot Flight Jacket

The jacket is nice Burt and Greg! Burt’s ownership was its destiny. Glad it worked out! - Ian

    Leather Palmed Gloves

I had a mint pair of these in size 9. A couple of years ago, I donated them to a collection. I did wear them two or three times and found that they aren’t very warm. Cold air gets in through the tops of them, as there is so much open space at the top. Having said that, they’re very nicely made...

    Roughout advice?

I know I’ve mentioned it before, more than once, but ATF’s Roughout’s and other U.S. made boots are really good, in my experience. They poured a lot of money into them and it paid off. I’ve owned their Roughouts and the Service Shoes/Boots for the past two years. I also have owned the roughouts...
