Hey all,
So I've recently taken possession of an original B-15 jacket. It's in nice enough shape but a little musty, as is often the case with these old garments. Was going to take it to get dry cleaned to get the smell out and freshen it up. Do you guys think this would damage the jacket in...
Yeah, to be honest, I've never quite understood GW sizing. I wear a 40 in suit jackets, a 40 in all other repros, and a 40 in original A-2's. Wartime sizing or not, I'm always a 40.
Didn't mean to imply any questionable past practices by anyone. As I said, "as a matter of policy, this creates a conflict of interest," which it does, regardless how well it has worked out thus far.
There is also the issue of manufacturers being moderators at all, which would potentially enable posts about their products to be deleted or otherwise edited. JC is a stand-up guy, but as a matter of policy, I feel this is a conflict of interest which sets a bad precedent.
Just my two cents.
Grew up in South Texas, as well. Also served in the Air Force up at Beale AFB, 'bout an hour from Chico. I, too, dislike the heat. Now, after six years of New York winters, I've forgotten what the heat was like.... I've also forgotten what it was like to be comfortably warm.... I think Oregon is...
Try to get those color knits! That would seal the deal for me. I think where Real Mccoy's japan and other Japanese makers succeed is they offer knit/leather combinations that may not be entirely historically accurate, but still look the part.
I'm an A-2 man from way back, but am currently lusting after the M-422A. Which repro makers make a good one? I prefer a lighter goatskin tending toward russet. This one from Real Mccoy's looks like exactly what the doctor ordered, but price point is a bit high. Thoughts?
