Hi all,
just wondering if anyone knows when Eastman started to produce their Monarch A-2s? I've emailed them, but haven't received a response yet, so ....
Thanks, Jeff
Hi Andrew,
thanks for the reply/info. Seems that a heck of a lot of research goes into the details of/images of the artwork on the jackets, but not to much on the production/history of the A-2s as a whole - or that is just my newbie take on it. I have read a few of the AAC/AAF equipment and...
Hi all,
I've tried to do a search for this info, but didn't find anything - anyone know a resource to go to or just know how many A-2s were manufactured by the various makers or at least ball park figures - e.g. I have seen it written here that Monarch didn't make that many. Is this based on...
Hi all,
with all the discussion of the various manufacturer's unique a-2 tweaks - does anyone have pictures of A-2s actually being manufactured during the 1930s-1940s?
Jeff
Hi all,
looks like some placed a bid for there max and some new guy edged it up and up with 17 little bid little increments! At times I like what eBay makes available that wouldn't be otherwise and at times the bidders (who don't know how to bid) drive me crazy!
Jeff
Hi all,
to add to the first inquiry - I just acquired an Eastman Monarch with a Sched. number 0016.
From the above discussion I'm guessing that this means it is the 16th ELC Monarch made and a follow on question when did ELC start making the Monarchs?
Thanks, Jeff
Hi all,
most interesting stuff. Another question: has anyone "decoded" the letters and numbers?
E.g.: "Star 42-18245 P = W535 AC28557"
42 = the fiscal year of the order?
P = ??
W535 = ??
AC = Air Corps?
Thanks, Jeff
Hi David,
thanks, so somewhere both are/were recorded. I ask because I've only ever seen the Monarch contract number (which was piqued by my interest in a soon to arrive ELC Monarch).
