    Showing Eastman Some Love

Just to mention I bought a new ELC Dubow last week. Contrary to the ELC Star and Roughwear A2's I tried on at the 2018/19 pop-up shops in London this Dubow has plenty of room at the sleeve end/cuff for my hands to move through. Not sure this is a move recently made across their different models...

    Good WEP jacket repro?

I had a 46L original (an Alpha 1972 contract and yes, it was an issue original, not a modern Alpha). It fit like a 46 in the chest and shoulders, but v.trim in the waist (I was a 46 chest at that point, it was too small for me really so I sold it). I have Real McCoys repros in a 44L now that...

    Real McCoy's shop Mayfair

The WEPs are £825, which is a lot, yes, but not several thousands. Just a minor point, not really to criticise, I get your overall argument for sure. But as remakes of a hard to find jacket (in mint condition, which is what I collect when it comes to originals) they are really good.

    Real McCoy's shop Mayfair

Well I've never bought a Real McCoy's jacket previously, may never again, but my WEPs I just bought are absolutely fantastic, at least from my perspective, and I've been involved in collecting (and this forum in all its forms) since 1998. In my eyes they're very well made indeed and also not too...

    Real McCoy's shop Mayfair

Well if people aren't buying enough jackets in-store maybe not, if they get 5 people in a week maybe it's not worth it. I'm not surprised by the anger on this thread so much as confused, a lot of conclusions being jumped to.

    Real McCoy's shop Mayfair

My main point is I doubt it’s pretentiousness, more not paying to staff a quiet store. That’s my immediate assumption anyway.

    Vintage shops in London

What about Rokit, Covent Garden? Real McCoy, American Classics etc aren't really vintage shops. I've bought good stuff from Rokit, nice condition M65s on occasion some lovely 80s choch-chip jackets, that kind of thing.

    Real McCoy's shop Mayfair

Well I imagine this is more related to paying to open and staff an often quiet store, at least that was my assumption. I just bought a couple of their WEPs online, I'm sure like a lot of retail the bricks-and -mortar is for 'showrooming'. and has a lot of costs associated with it, especially now...

The new EBay method for getting paid … anyone experienced it yet ?

All works okay for me, goes smoothly. I was a bit reluctant about the changes but oddly my last few incoming payments from sales have hit my bank in 24 hours (initially it was taking 2 days). Now if selling to Europe was as easy as it was previously then that would be great but sadly it isn’t.

    New A/W Buzz Rickson catalogue

I bought the only size 44 Tanker they brought in (I think). I buy one (occasionally two) most years and seem to get the only ones they bring in every October.

    B-15 issue?

There's also a sizeable delay between standardization and front-line issue. I searched thousands of photos online and in books for a few years for the first sight of a B-15 in the ETO and found a few appearing on bomber crew photos etc. dated December 1944. That's the earliest I found. Also the...

Militaria flippers, a shameless phenomena. Base! base! base!

Capitalism blah blah, it's still not a great thing to be doing, I agree. Unemployment, homelessness - also part of capitalism's natural fallout, doesn't mean it's okay.

    Aero wear question

I don't know, it just varies so much I personally can't be persuaded by one type of wear or another. here's a good one: And another:
