How would you pay for an item ? What are the delivery charges ? These people need to get on eBay.
This jacket did look pretty good in the pics, with the red silk lining, although many forum members would say the leather had no grain and was smooth as a baby's butt.

And they give you a choice in russet as well:

Wow, this ones got lots of grain.

Pretty professional website. I don't know about anyone else here, but if they were offered on a website that took PPal, I'd pick one up.

Well,

they got the Monarch details wrong, but for that price it looks much better than the stuff from Noble House etc...

A nice jacket to beat up and do not give a s**t about.

I would probably buy one, if it was not coming from China...

I like this pic, where it's mixed real pics with "Band of Brothers" and "Pearl Harbor" characters.....

Upps, did they expect accurate copies of BR jackets for that price?

@tcwu:
Why the GW reference in the thread title? Do you actually think this jacket is the same league as ELC, AERO, LW or GW  ?

It was only a matter of time till the Chinese got in on the act. It won't be long before they are producing very good repros for an ultra competitive price. Just wait and see. I like the half belt Aero rip off.

P.S. anything from china is a total POS.

When you use the word 'anything', it negates your statement. My sister works for Boeing Aircraft in Washington and they use Chinese manufacturers/suppliers for aircraft parts. Boeing has on site US inspectors at the manufacturing facility and the parts go through strict quality control inspection upon receipt in the USA. These parts are manufactured up to standards and specs. set by Boeing, who don't want their airplanes to fall out of the sky.

I also read an article in a magazine about power tools. The Chinese make shop tools for several US manufacturers. They can produce cheap pos stuff...cheaply, or they can make excellent tools, but it's gonna cost more. You can get a pos $ 18.00 homeowners light use power drill or a commercial use $ 180.00 power drill from China.

Gents..

Don't be so quick to pay off the quality of Chinese stuff. Rollin from At The Front openly admits the fabric and hardware eclipses anything that was available in the US. If he attempted to do the US only thing with his stuff he would have been bankrupt 10 years ago. Check his rants! He derides the 'US only' customers who want the products made domestically, but not if they cost more???? The Chinese are now making super Garand bayonet repros for around $30, M2 tripod and T&E assemblies, all for under US$300!! That saves a reenactor shelling out for a $1500 tripod with data plate. I would not have thought there would be a huge demand for them?

If they wanted to they would be pumping out some good repro labels and would be knocking out every jacket that ELC, BR, RM, AERO and GW make. As long as they have a half decent label and either change the epp, collar or pocket design to something that resembles a pic in a half decent reference, they are on a winner. And they would be cheaper. But nowhere near as good. Only the diehards and the border protectionists would be shelling out for the superior product. But a lot more people would own more jackets if they got the details right. And then we pay the postage to get it here. The cost of getting it to the Point of Departure in China is a whole lot less than what it costs to get it from your Airport to your door. And your domestic postal service does not see a cent of it!! They make more money!!

Watch out for the Dragon behind the Bamboo Curtain..

Thanks for the heads up. I'd already bid on it, and wasn't aware this wasn't a RMJ since it was represented as being made in Japan, not China. But after you pointed it out and and re-reading the listing description, one line gave the tip off that it wasn't a Real McCoy/Buzz Rickson:
Comparative Quality as Real Mccoy Jacket, Buzz Rickson's Jacket or Eastman A-2 jacket

I did say I'd buy one if it came up on eBay and PPal. I'll let my bid stand, but I'm not going to bid any more.

I have started to report items that blatantly use key word spamming as it's annoying and misleading. It's becoming more of a problem and I hope more of us will complain.

Should you win it, I look forward to your review of it.
