Bill Kelso. Whats happening?

If that was me and I had a maker sharing my personal contact details around the internet without my consent they'd be getting a letter advising action from my solicitor.

First time I've heard a maker doing this and it's absolutely unforgivable.

Not just data protection rules but also slander.
As mentioned this isn't the first email I have recieved from Kelso singling out one of their customers in a group email to pretty much all the makers you can think off (including @Skyhawk ) .
It is terrible practice and certainly not anything that firstly we would do, but also take no notice off, and will not be sharing any of the customers details with anyone.
@kev15 let me know if you would like me to send you the email (I obviously have your email .....and address and phone number !!)
Dear Denny,
Thank you for the heads up, I truly appreciate the care. Please, if you have the time forward that email to me.

What is extremely saddening that they have already pulled this off in the past and they will definitely do it again. Convincing customers they have no other option or right but to resell the brand new product they have waited for month, only to find out the suggested size was off. Manufacturer liability is non existent. Then of course you are more than welcome to place an order for almost a thousand pounds again.

I accepted and played by their rule book. Trusted them, kept the radio silence and have been patient for way too long.

After I had expressed my dissatisfaction in a very subtle and respectful manner, this Pete talked to me in a way that I personally have found insulting. I was asking for a civilised solution, even offered a restocking fee yet he absolutely turned his back on me, last email received was on 26 January. No refund, no replacement, not a single word by him since. I gave Pete a notification, that as the PayPal customer protection is over after 6 month I will need to contact my Debit Card company to try to get my money back.

As they are quite active on social media I tried to connect with them on instagram. Asking for a phone number to call, somebody else to talk to, anything. At the beginning of February I got a reply and I am quoting here: “PETE tells me that they are studying your proposal.”

The bank took it seriously, after seeing all the emails exchanged, they found my claim to be legitimate. I received a letter last Friday that my refund should appear on my bank account in 60-180 days. Not by the trusted vendor, but the bank. By Bill Kelso, I was left in the dark without anything in my hands and my money gone with the wind.

Apparently that is how one must earn his black listed title.

I have just sent you a mail. You may need to check your junk folder as we have been experiencing a few emails ending up in peoples spam folders.

I think that this email from BK is a violation of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (but I'm not a lawyer, so that's just an assumption).
There are penalties of up to EUR 20 million or up to four per cent of the total annual turnover achieved worldwide.
Perhaps someone in possession of the email should file a complaint?

edit: Although... if they don't have their registered office in the EU, that probably won't help.

Glad you’re getting your money back. Not like it’s a 200 dollar jacket.

The email has been passed onto the OP , it is all his details that were shared.
Bill Kelso have their office registered in the UK ( well that's what their website' says) , they have always been very secretive with their address and phone number which in itself should ring alarm bells

Sounds like a company in trouble. Maybe when Platon stopped taking new orders long ago that was a sign.

In spite of everything that is being posted regarding this incident, and given a certain amount of time, some people will overlook all that’s being revealed here, and will continue to deal with this company.I guarantee it . Many of us have seen this happen in the past in similar situations and in time all is forgotten .

Your between-the-lines message is crystal clear, Burt -- at least to some of us.

I've often posted here that I'd never pay big money to a company like this where even their fans will admit you're going to have to wait forever.
That's usually the first step to vaporware, then mocking their customers who aren't in their cult of personality, then simply taking money for stuff they never intended to make good on.
It seems that BK is well on their way toward the inevitable implosion that always comes eventually.
As this forum is the kind of place where potential customers come to, can we now stop all this, "your toddler child might be a great grandparent by the time you get your jacket and you will have spent their college tuition to pay for it but IT’LL BE WORTH IT" drivel I've seen here far too many times?

Don't take it the wrong way, but did you just pass on customer information to another party? lol.

I passed on customer information to the customer mentioned and nobody else. @kev15 is the customer who Bill Kelso thought it was ok to not only make slanderous comments about in unsolicited emails to approx 20 manufacturers but also "share" all of his info such as name, address, email and phone number.

Denny was kind enough to forward me BK’s hate letter that included my home address being shared with numerous vendors. I am grateful to him, as according to BK I should be still waiting for an answer. Now I have it, indirectly.

It's obviously up to you but as I mentioned above I think it may be prudent to have a chat with your solicitor. Sending your personal details willy-nilly around the internet without consent and with a view to arguably slander your name and reputation is I imagine worthy of your legal representative's attention.

It's crazy !
I suppose that if Bill Kelso acts like this, it's because they're getting something in return. I don't understand what they have to gain.
Is there some kind of customer blacklist exchange ?

All I know is that this is the second such email I have recieved from them, first one from Andy Falzon a few year ago and then this one, both with a whole lot of manufacturers CC'd in. I have never recieved such a mail from any other maker (nor have we sent any, or ever would)
