What jacket(s) are you wearing at the moment?

Hi Burt,

It's the ATF repro. They are bloody amazing and probably one of ATF's most accurate repros of anything they have done. Not only that but they are built like a brick shithouse - I've worn and used mine for manual labour for 3 years now and it laughs it off.

Honestly if the zombie apocalypse or WWIII happened this is the coat I would leave the house in. None of the others.

Old picture from when it was new. This is the revised 44 pattern (with strengthening in the elbows and "darts" in the hood construction). The camouflage is the M1943 Sumpftarn pattern.

How warm is it? I'm curious as I was thinking of getting one myself. What's the padding made of ? Sorry for the many questions!

The lining on the ATF parkas is polar fleece. It's warm but it's not a Canada Goose parka. These were designed to be worn over normal Wehrmacht winter kit, so woollen long-johns, woollen shirt (possibly also a jumper), and tunic.

I've worn this one up in the mountains in under -15 with thermals, wool shirt and woollen jumper and been quite toasty.

No problem. They're sold out at the moment I think but I'd be very surprised if Rollin doesn't have another run planned on the horizon so maybe flick him a quick email asking as every little prod will make him do it quicker.

I'm actually going to take some detail photos of mine tomorrow as I'm free from work and others have been asking for them.

Have a look in the German Winter Parkas thread in the related gear section tomorrow ;)

Based on an August 30 email, Rollin says not to expect new German winter uniforms until autumn of 2023. They're having trouble sourcing the right material.

For clarification:
"Strike 2. German Parkas- not this Winter: I'm making a pragmatic judgement call and cancelling the German Winter Uniforms for this season. The reason is that it looks like there's no chance in hell we'd get them before February or March. They're a very expensive project (200k) and knowing that they only sell well Nov-Feb, I'm pushing them back.

"The delay is trying to get the correct 100% rayon cloth made. I thought it was about done, but instead they're still waiting for quotes from the fabric mill. I'll restart them late next Spring so we should be able to get them in early Fall 2023."

That's a shame, hopefully he sorts something out as the last run (which I think mine was - 2019) is seriously nice.

As I said I'll post detail pics in the Parka thread tomorrow with some comparison pics I have of an original Wehrmacht M1944. The ATF comes out very nicely in comparison.
