I just think about the Pegasus Bridge Raid in Normandy '44. That was a pretty successful mission for gliders. Or the german attack at Fort Eben Emael in Belgium.....

Yeah- away from the front line- not delivering guys.

Time and place. Air superiority and enemy air defenses suppressed and helicopters will still be used. Tho the Future Vertical Lift will be changing the face of it.

Maybe in one of the colonial wars- Mali or something. The day of the helicopter insertion is gone on the modern peer to peer battlefied. Air superiority and enemy defenses suppressed now happen (peer to peer) only at the very end of things.

Justt wow! So sharp and crisp document. I love the concept of liberty ships and how they were produced and put in action in a flash. Industrial efficiency at its best!
