The Mash decal does have a cement that you apply before you put the decal on, close to what Garica's has in his catalog. I have never used the setting solution. Did you apply the white cement and then the Micro-sol or just the micro-Sol? Did you use the Red text or Blue?

The BEST most accurate water slide decals are from MASH of Japan. I have used them a number of times and have purchased the decals from G Aviation but MASH is the way to go. The decal setting solution is a great idea.

Thanks for the insight. It usually only takes 2 days once I place the order with MASH faster then anywhere in the states. I used his water transfer AAF decals my my A-2's and love them. Even JC says they are the business!

Hi, does anyone know if they are still in business? I emailed them in November with still no response. I know it's just a leather name tag and not much $$$ but still you would think they would answer an email. I have done business with them before but not sure if MASH from Japan is a better...

I love the smart arse comments. It actually is a "great jacket for sure" You can bet on it. But Liberty is a more accurate WWll hide.

I own a Star made out of Liberty Hide. I'll tell you it's the closest hide to original A-2 hide I have even seen in my 40 years of collecting, period dot

Foster, you may have hit the mark with mercerizing. Would that give a stronger fabric? Or stain/water resistant fabric? Also I have noticed that the original linings have less friction when putting on or taking off your jacket. Would mercerizing account for that? Is Good Wear, Bill Kelso and...

Hi Dave, I'm comparing the lining of my Star from Bill Kelso to the lining of originals. I feel that every reproduction I have ever owned or handled comes up short on the lining. The one exception would be a Buzz Rickson I purchased from HPA that was a special edition with Red Silk lining.
