From looking at the photos does this look like another horse hide one, te hide doesn't retail any of the patina or grain that my original has at all, looks almost smooth?

It's a odd jacket this one. The puller seems to be a later type but blackened and the leather is so smooth. Even zoomin fun on the photos it's doesn't seem like goat skin. Bit I am only looking on my phone at the moment.

Infact I've just checked and I don't have a W&G AN-J-3a but the AN-6552 designation. Could this have been a horsehide production before retaining the USN goatskin spec for the AN-6552 which I believe is same year but later?

He's open to offers though, how low do you think he'll undercut the asking price?
