Vintage Wareing Coat

I have come across a full length brown leather coat made by Wareing - fully lined in a camel/yellow wool fabric with silk upper laid over the wool. Double breasted style with horn buttons and moleskin lined pockets. Sleeves are lined and have wind resistant elasticated wrists.
The leather, although aged looking is wonderfully supple.
Has anyone any idea of it's original use and age please.
Would post a photo if someone can run me through how to do so.

Sounds like what they called a 'car coat', Wareings and other sheepskin makers notably Moreland made this style of coat...dig out your open-top MG!

Wareings was making motorcycle clothing in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. They had their first contract with the Air Ministry for Irvin jackets in 1935 and during the War focused on their military contracts. Pictures of your coat would help with dating it.
