Yeah, I know I'm not the first to make this discovery, but NZD 41.00 (less than USD 30.00) ..... and I like it. :?
It seems that the RNZAF sometimes piggybacks, and issues US nylon. I've found several issued L-2B's, all the same Alpha 1978 contract, and now this valley Apparel from 2003. The little brother, Summer weight Nomex jackets turn up in surplus stores, usually with 1990's dates, but this one's much nicer ..... it's still shiny.
I know that the best ones are earlier, still with the pleated back, but I'm not complaining ... and I'm stuck with the Pilot Officer rank, it's sewn right through the shoulders.
