Spearhead Militaria M-41 Parson's jacket arrived

Jacket arrived today
Size 40
Looked good, the color, the quality, the stitching, all loooked good

Unfortunately, the sleeves are short
they are 22 inches instead of 25 inches mentioned in the item's description on ebay.

In fact, the jacket measures


chest 22.5 instead of 21.25
shoulder to cuff 22 instead of 25
shoulder to shoulder 20.5 instead of 19.5
back 25 instead of 25.5

then I saw

which is size 40 and measures

Ampit to Ampit 26 1/2"
Shoulder to Shoulder 20 1/2",
Long Sleeve 21 1/2",
back 28"

Now I am confused.
Original size 40 with sleeve 21.5

You guys have any ideas?
Did originals have short sleeves?
What should be the correct sleeve for a size 40?????

As the seller says ... It was modified by custom at sleeves (short). The sleeves fray on these jackets, so I guess it's the easiest way to fix that.

Don't know about your repro though ... send it back?

hmm modified... I didn't see that...

Mine unfortunately is not modified.
I want to send back but afraid to get replacement as if I get bigger size for longer sleeves might have other problems with the fit.

.... but 22" is crazy short, you can't wear it like that. The two originals I owned, one had a chest of 23", with 24 1/2 sleeves, the other must have been a Long size, 25 1/2 chest, 27 1/2 sleeve.

ATF does offer size 40 long, which is why I wound up ordering from them.
