Scovill bought Conmar in June 1965

I bought a G-1 jacket recently which did not have any marking except on the zipper. It has Conmar on the zipper box but a Scovill puller, a two-ply waistband, and a real mouton collar. Most people (including me) seemed to think that this implied it was an early contract 7823D around fiscal year 1968.

Then I noticed this jacket dated 1967 on Roger's site: http://moorecustom.com/jackets/G-1_7823C_Gregory_40.htm

It is a 7823C with a Scovill puller, two-ply waistband, and real mouton collar.

I started looking around trying to identify the exact time frame when Scovill bought Conmar Products and found some articles that identify June 16, 1965 as the actual date when the acquisition occurred. (Of course that doesn't tell us how long it took for inventory to turn over completely to the new branding.)

Some of the threads are missing from the label, but the Gregory contract is actually a 7823D.
