Sadly Chuck Yeager has passed away age 97. First man to go supersonic.

I hadn't heard the news. That's a real shame. I remember seeing him at the Oshkosh EAA fly-in years ago and he was treated like a rock star. There were tons of people crowded around him; it was great just to be able to see him!

May he rest in peace.

Oh, it hasn't been widely reported apparently. Glad that I visit here from time to time.

I first read about this man from an article in Readers Digest when I was young (yes, part of my language education in those days). He is really my idol. It's really a pity that there literally zero chance for anyone to become a pilot in my home country at that time (Hong Kong by the way), he really is my idol. RIP.
