Richard Bong A-2 Jacket

Noodling around on the internet I found some pics of Richard Bong in an A-2 jacket. After looking carefully at some photos I think he's wearing an Australian made V505 jacket. If you look carefully you can see that it looks a bit "funny". Weird sewing on the pocket flap. Kind of stiffer looking leather than is usual for a WW2 issue A-2. Kind of a slightly off look in general:

The shoulder line is pretty exaggerated.The collar/lining intersection is unusual.

That's Eddie Rickenbacker he's with. Eddie lived a life! As did Richard Bong...
