Interesting jacket by McGregor Manufacturing, a maker which I have not heard of before. The shearling looks old enough for it to have been worn in the War. It's somewhat fragile. The patch appears original.

You actually have heard of McGregor, under their original name of David D. Doniger & Co.

McGregor Sportswear was their flagship brand; they eventually changed their name to McGregor-Doniger.

Modest quality postwar stuff. That ® clues me in that it's newer than the 40s - maybe even the 60s.

The 96th BS patch was probably put on by a vet or enthusiast.
