Other makers of nylon

I will probably get roasted for this, but I am wondering if anyone has qualilty experience with lower priced nylon makers such as ultraforce?
I just want an inexpensive MA-1 style jacket, but something of reasonable material quality. The thread does not have to be the correct shade etc. But, the thing should hold up decently for occasional wear.
If I don't want to shell out $70 for an alpha, and I can't find a nice original on E-bay, are ultraforce or other makers decent enough in terms of construction?

Terry, I've never owned one of these, but my police officers seem to really like them. They normally order their jackets in black and wear them black BDUs.
