The tag is faded but it looks like it is a 7823 contract.

The zipper is not original. I don't know enough to comment on the rest.

I'm pretty sure that is a B series label. In any event, the silver letters date it to the 60s not WWII

The seller is from here in New Bern. I actually know him fairly well and have found him to be honest in the past. His expertice is in American Civil War militaria but he dabbles in other stuff. I expect that he would change his WWII claims if he knew the jacket was a G-1.
