Gents,
Today I wanted to share another rare bird: this flight suit was worn by the highly seasoned Test Pilot, Jim Sandberg, during the tests of the mythical F-20 Tigershark.
Jim conducted radar development, cockpit avionics integration, flying qualities, performance, and weapon delivery tests on the F-20, accumulating 450 test hours in that jet over the course of four years. He is also the only surviving test pilot of the Tigershark, the other two pilots were killed in crashes in the 80's. The last remaining prototype of the F-20 is in the California Science Center.
This example doesn't show any signs of ever having a contract label attached, but I would guess it was most likely made by Bowlers Shirt & Uniform Co., Inc.
The condition of this flight suit is mint, which is amazing considering it's over 30 years old.
Left chest depicts the embroided name "JIM SANDBERG".
Right chest depicts an embroided F-20 Tigershark airplane.
Say no more guys, enjoy the pics.
Regards,
Jorge
