This doesnt look too bad as a distressing process compared to 'sanding'..

obviously too small for many on here and of questionable value as a VINTAGE leather jacket in real age but the design is not unpleasant. the distressing occurs in natural wear areas and has the burnished rather than branded look to it.

Denatured alcohol for anyone wanting to experiment, cuts through most finishes at a reasonable rate of speed without being too fast. Acetone is too strong, strong enough to eat through epoxy, so I'd be careful and have a little practice before using that. Sand paper is the extreme and not used in this case.
