Here's my last jacket.
Although I couldn't get any information about Lt Jim Nichols, he was certainly an A-3 Skywarior pilot in reco squadron VCP-63 (composite photographic) and heavy reco squadron VAH-10. The patch on the left shoulder is the one of the VAH-123. This unit was the fleet squadron for A-3 crews endoctrinment.
VCP-63 "Eyes of the Fleet" only exists from July 1959 to July 1961 before to be redesignated VFP-63. The squadron only had some A-3D-2P as it was mainly a F8-U1P Crusader squadron. These skywarriors were phased out when the squadron was redesignated VFP-63.
I believe that Lt Nichols was then assigned to the VAH-10 and that this jacket dates from this period. Any additional information would be welcome!
