That's interesting. It had snap pockets? It could have been a commercial jacket made by SAT.

Full Gear reproduces an ad for the Security A-1516 Regulation Army Jacket, which appears to be identical to the issued A-2 jacket.

It has Two large roomy lined pockets with button down flaps. Presumably as the spec. changed, so did their civilian version.

The leather is described as Havana Brown Cordwain, and the lining is silk. Cordwain is a synonym for Cordovan.
