Lockheed Field Tech Jacket

I always liked the early years of Lockheed and thought it would be nice to
make a period replica of the jacket a field tech might have worn. I won the
old Lockheed patches years ago on eBay, same with the jacket. I got some
period thread and viola!! Enjoy.

I realize that a military jacket with a fictitious theme is judged second
tier and I feel the same way about this jacket. I really do like it all the
same. Just for shifts and giggles.

The amount of part worn A-2s that come up for sale here are testament to the fact that the joy of jacket collecting is not always joyous as we priss around for the perfect stitch length, hide and contract and are never quite satisfied, at least not for long.

It is nice to see a shits and giggles jacket once in a while. I have knocked out Elvis presley 3rd armoured fatigue shirts to museum standard and I did a Taxi driver M65 jacket once, They get sold on for others to enjoy as S&G jackets eventually as I never really get round to wearing them publicly. I would have mabe kept the DeNiro one but the patches that you can buy are a little less 'local manufacture' than the film version and too synthetic, so it went.

I often wonder how some of the A-2 people would've fared if they were actually issued their jackets? So may nice ones are on the buy & sell forum here. Most have about 3 hours of wear time. It's no stretch to see how LW Stu arrived with some of his opines. The patches on this jacket are period pieces. The Jacket is a first season 555 size 48.
