Knopf N-2a finally arrived

Hi all,
My Knopf N-2a finally arrived today, Custom's etc, don't ask! But now its finally here, I could not be happier. Nylon in great shape, mouton is also great, no balding, all zips in perfect working order, few small moth nips in knits, but overall superb condition, better than I expected. I'm a 38 chest and although its marked as a large, this one fits perfect and when measured against my medium N-2b is the same size. Its my first bit of 50's blue nylon and I must say the quality of the Nylon is superb. Knopf N-2a had no stencil on the arm, and the buttons I put on are brown from MASH, the are closer to the buttons on original buttons on the jacket than blue would have been.






Just to add fighter jocks wore them to!!

Fantastic! Congratulations on that, and cheers for sharing. With the southern hemisphere winter starting to bite, a nice N-2A would be good to add to the stable down here for those really cold mornings; interesting to note that the Knopf 'Large' fits more like you'd expect a medium to.

Hi Guys,
Franck the fit is great and yes it will get worn, its just cold enough here to warrant it, but I fear spring and summer are fast approaching! Just hope it stays cold a little longer.

Jason, I tried on a large a month back and it fitted great, I'd always thought that the N-2a large would be to big for me, I've tried large N-3a and it was massive on me. Anyway a gave this one a shot, putting in a conservative bid, (just in case it had to back on ebay), and I won it.

Just out of curiosity what is the latest anyone has seen N-2a being used. I like the shots of a SAC Lt wearing one in 1960. (Just need the cap now! :lol: ) Anyone else have a later shot?
