Howard Curran A-2 pictures

Sorry it took a while, but here are the pictures of Howard Curran's A-2. It's an origianl 27798 Dubow, but it definately looks as though it was re-dyed at some point. The unfortunate part is that Curran sewed modern patches, plastic covered ranks and his reunion patch onto the jacket. If you look at the pic of the inside, you'll see were the reunion patch was sewn over the stitching of his original name strip. The lining, zip, snaps, etc. are in excellent shape. I am lulling over whether to remove all the stuff he sewed on as it is distracing IMO.

Curran had two confirmed aerial victories, although some sites say he was an ace. The other victories were ground kills, and as what the AAF did at the end of the war, they took away those ground kills towards "ace" status. It was a ploy to get the fighter pilots to go down and strafe eneny planes as it was really dangerous business.
