Gibson and Barnes A2 historic

Any members own a G&B A2 HH historic? I am normally a 40,would I take a 38 in a G&B? brian

They do tend to run large. I take a 42 in most repros but can wear a 40 in theirs.

I have a 44 goatskin (from a few years back) that fits me fine as a 44 -- other than maybe being a bit baggy around the waist. Shoulders and upper body are spot-on.

Their historical A-2 in 46 fits me fine. As a comparison, I tend to prefer G-1s in 48, and my Areo Flight A-2 in 46 can only be worn with vintage cut trousers and if I suck my gut in.

Their modern Luftwaffe jacket fits me fine in 46 too.

As stated above, their jackets are sized large so,for you, a size 38 should fit like a 40 unless you like more room in the chest, waist, and shoulders for sweaters and similar clothing layerd underneath. The sales rep should be able to help you pick the right size. Good luck. They make very nice jackets.
