D-Day Jacket

This was the very last jacket I painted. I met a gentleman who saw my painted A-2 and he asked me if I would paint one for him. He said he had an Eastman A-2 that he'd outgrown and would trade it for a paint job. He was off to Normandy for the 50th anniversary reunion of D-Day with his paratroop unit, and he wanted something special to wear. He designed the jacket and provided me with the pictures. These are scanned photos because the pics were taken with a 35mm camera. I can't show the close up, but the jacket has a 'map' with each town where his unit engaged the enemy. The building in the pic is where his D-Day battle started, the church of Sainte-Mère-Église.
