It's a type of jacket first made in Britain in the fifties from memory by the Douglas company. It became known informally as a Douglas Irvin and other makers copied it. You see a lot on eBay UK and many sellers seem to think it is an Irvin.

One seller a couple of years ago was selling one which he claimed was used by an RAF pilot in the war and had bullet holes in it...
