this is a jacket made for the one who can't chosse between A-2 and ANJ-3

the front looks like an A-2 and the back like an ANJ-3

This one is the AN-J3 pattern, Marcel ... it's the AN-J3A (AN6552) that was issued, and had the mouton collar.

He does this repair work? No wonder his waiting list is so long.

Congratulations, Marcel, and remember for next time .... buy jacket first, then post on forum. ;)

I think you might be mistaken Marcel, John doesn't take in repairs - the list of commissions is too long. Try Will at Aero for this type of work - I've used him for work on a previous Perry and was very happy with the standard of work and price.
Good luck

Must say it's always surprised me how quickly people highlight jackets in which they have an interest...it's a big forum out there and all's fair in love and jackets

helloooooooooooo,

repair will be done by my wife; i receive from John that confirm he don't take jacket for repair.

and i found his answer more than correct and justified, time to repair my jacket will take approximately as much time as making a new one.
so except the leather furniture, it will cost a lot to execute the repair.

Re: ''civy'' jacket - Photos added 11feb

hello all

received yesterday but only have time this morning to present you this jacket.

leather is still supple, with great patina and good grain.
all snaps fastener and zipper are workable.
the ''epaulettes'' are only decoratives
this will make a good wearer after my wife make repair to all knits (complete replacement)
i found two lettering but not well readable
result give or Jonn or John or Joan KNOX.
the length of the back is short but i like it.
my wife said this jacket is a jacket done for a lady, because the zipper is reversed, tailored with short back and because many space around the breast.
what do you guys think of this ????
what about jackets made for WAACs, especialy tailored to fit their bodies????

place to the pics

Hi, Marcel:
FYI: Roos Bros. was a men's store in California, a cut above the run-of-the-mill. They morphed into Roos Atkins at some point and continued to be a quality men's clothing store until the mid-late 1970's, I think. So, the jacket was not made for a woman; it is a man's jacket and it sits you well. Good score!
