Nice picture Marcel.

I have always thought that gliders just sounded so incredibly dangerous. I would much rather leap out of an airplane with a chute than float down in a clumsy wooden box landing, hopefully, in a wide open field completely vunerable to enemy fire before you ever got out... :(

My Dad was a glider crewchief with the 61st Troop Carrier Group, 59th Troop Carrier Squadron. As he said, the G in the middle of a Glider pilots wings didn't designate Glider, it designated Guts. What a way to fly! What most pilots will tell you, a landing is nothing more than a controlled crash. Times 2 in a glider.
