Man, what a good high res pic! Looks like stateside train up in the western USA prior to deployment, all wearing new jackets, caps and boots. Looks like it could have been taken yesterday. Great stuff, thanks for a sterling pic.

Great pic, you can even make out the crown zipper on the A-2 of the guy second from the left on the bottom row.

It was cool seeing the ground crewmen sporting B-3's.

Fantastic shot, so clear. Looking at the rest of Gleed's kit, he's wearing a 1st pattern RAF Type C helmet- usually worn by the 352nd, and what appears to be a 42 pattern RAF Mae West. Interesting boots all three are wearing, a bit like a buckle up rubber boots to deal with the mud.

Is it me, or was there a definite shortage of men 5'10"–6'0" in that era?
Most pictures have a lot of shortish guys and one or two really tall ones.
