I like it. Throw a couple orginal officers club matchbooks in the tray along with a WW2 crackle zippo and you'll have a real nice display!! ;)

Your P-38 is pretty cool as well.
Yeah, got it at the Long Beach flea a couple years ago for $25. Lockheed's factory used to be in Burbank so it probably wasn't far from where it was made.

I used to collect those a long time ago. I had a couple of aircraft made from brass ala trench art. I like those a lot better.

Here's some I have, I also like to use the unmounted ones as paperweights. I love the pure forms.I have two of the mounted Spits- exactly the same and aparently made in Italy, the rest are all locally made and i'm sure the brass P-38 was intended to have been finished as the one on the map (interestingly dated '49).
