A-1 Query

Were name tags ever put on A-1's ?
I have this feeling I seen something saying they werer occasionally placed just above a pocket.
Not sure if this is true and which side.
Any help or pictures out there pleasde to guise me.
Just bought a Eastman A-1 and as I name tags my A-2 's thought I may do the same.
I am sure the lady of the house thinks its a throw back to my childhood where my mother put my name on the school clothes !!!

Yes, it's true, and on the wearers left side. They aren't so much the stamped leather like we see on an A-2, they appear to be thinner, and painted.

Of course would a stamped leather one look way off beam on a A-1
or is beauty in the eye of the beholder ??

It would be the wrong colour, and too thick for the capeskin.
