The hard part is getting the right width- I think the wartime ones were 5 inch wide whereas most repos are 4 inch wide. If anyone knows who makes 5 inch tags I'm in!
I was walking through Myer department store today and walked past Ralph Lauren when a mannequin caught my eye- there on a rack was about 15 of these! You may see a few more A2s on the street now!

The "pistol" is a wooden cutout with Enfield grips and a lanyard loop attached- looks good in the holster and is totally safe/ legal.
I should also mention that the H type mask has a postwar microphone in it which I need to fix with a wartime mike- I should have...
Just thought i would share the latest kit rollout- 1944/45 RAAF pilot, South West Pacific theatre. The chute is standard RAF/RAAF seat type with the dinghy pack fitted rather than the pad. The helmet is a wartime dated E Type with a wartime dated H mask and MKVIII goggles.
I dunno Smithy- I've worn the ELC B-3 commuting for the past fortnight with no overheating problems! Its been below 10 most mornings when I leave... I reckon the Irvin will be fine. Besides- its as much for airshow and aircrew impressions as daily wear.
Or maybe I just feel the cold a lot more...
You are correct Littlebuddy- if anything these are over-marked. Good thing really because as John said, they re still made, so not really repros. The extra stampings just separate them from the original 40's models and could assist with stopping fraudulent selling.

Saw these on eBay- report A^M ACME Thunderers- this one is sold aged but they have new chromed as well. Looks OK so I bought one and its on its way. At AUD$30, its cheaper than losing an original off your flight gear!
