Retired in 2008 after nearly 34 years with the Rialto Fire Department. My uncle, Cdr. James S. "Bud" Brown (deceased) was a USN pilot during WWII and beyond. I collect things related to his career. He flew SBDs (VB-21), Hellcats (VF-11), Bearcats (VF-12A), Cutlasses (VF-124) while assigned to squadrons. He also has time in the F4U Corsair, A4 Skyhawk and others. My uncle was assistant air ops aboard Essex during the Korean War. He was the CO of Project Cutlass, CO of VF-124 aboard Hancock and the last CO of the Fleet Air Gunnery Unit at Yuma, where he oversaw the 4th and final Naval Air Weapons Meet in 1959, also known as Operation Top Gun. I have a lot of material related to his career including his flight jacket from FAGU, many of his logs and his medals.
