I agree that it appears that the zipper is a replacement and does not tell me anything about the Jacket . Based on comments from this forum and FL it appears that the jacket may come late 30,s and have been made by the Durable company . Jackets from this company appear to have the Talon zipper...

That makes sense as there is a suggestion that the coat may have been made by Durable and Durable may have had companies in both Canada and the US .A poster on FD said the FLASH zipper was a replacement from the fifties and when I took a close look I noticed a difference in the thread attaching...

A bit different design as the word FLASH on this one is in a raised area and mine is not , and mine has two lines either side of the word . the rest of the design looks the same . Still have not been able to find any company info .

That may be the reason as I noticed some people commenting on the slow load times which I also experienced . Guess I will have to wait it out and keep reading the various threads . Thank you all for your help .

I think we understood what you meant , its my favorite part of the jacket . In my research , I have yet to find another sunrise back quite as nice . Of course i may be biased .

I can get inside the lining at the location required and I have some suitable thin leather that i could glue in to support the small tear which is only around 1/2 inch or less so only need to get some leather glue .

That's what I thought so I will keep my eye open for the leather glue . The tear is a small one so if I just display the jacket , I may just leave it the way it is .

I have lots of vaseline so will give it a try on a small hidden area and see how it works . I have a couple small tear areas and I remember seeing someone suggest using crazy glue to carefully bind the edges together ?

I have a cream by URAD called Tenderly and tried a bit on the cuff and it changes the colour so I am not sure of the right approach . I expect all products will darken the leather .

I am up in Ontario Canada so not sure of any local sources that reline coats or do repairs .
