Another Show Of Shows Purchase BUT… What The Hell was I thinking ???

Very nice! What year is the back type parachute? I have a USAF BA-20 from '86 and a WW 2 seat-type parachute that I have displayed, along with appropriate flight gear such as helmets, flight suits, gloves, etc., while team-teaching an aviation history class at the university. The students were...

    MA-1 patterns (50's, 60's and 70's)

Thanks for sharing, very nice photos! Since having an MA-1 issued in 1969, they are my favorites. LR

NEW OLD STOCK SKYLINE CLOTHING CORPORATION TYPE MA-1 INTERMEDIATE FLYING JACKET MIL-J-8279C DA-36-243-QM(CTM)11671-C-62

Wow, very nice example of the Skyline MA-1. One interesting thing about this particular DA series of Skyline is the misprint/misspelling of the word 'Coporation' on the tag. I have only noticed this on the '62 series Skyline jackets. Having been issued an MA-1 jacket in the USAF in 1969 I have...

Try Plane Crazy Enterprises: www.planecrazyenterprises.com They made one for me - just perfect. They have brown leather, black leather, USAF black and brown. They also carry an assortment of patches. LR

For the past two or three days I got a 'website connection not secure' message from my server and could not even get to the VLJ website until today.

Military issue or civilian MA-1 jacket?

I believe the MIL-J-8279E was the last MA-1 with orange lining. The MIL-J-8279F series has the gray lining and were intended for ground personnel as stated above. LGR

Military issue or civilian MA-1 jacket?

The MA-1 jackets are my favorites! I have a modest collection of MA-1's along with a growing database on MA-1 jackets listing contract numbers spanning from the late 1950's through mid-1986. I also have a photo library showing many construction details and the manufacturer's tags. As well, I...

    Rough Wear A-2 Early '42

Saw this jacket at a show in Franklin Tennessee. This one has provenance. This was at the Spring Show of the Tennessee Military Collector's Association (TMCA) a week or so ago. Great show if you are near the mid Tennessee area. LGR

Do Avirex HH A2's have a good reputation?

I have an Avirex just like this one, different size, goatskin, seal brown, no patch of course. Very comfortable, looks good, have had comments on how nice it looks. I would say reasonably authentic but not perfect. I would not hesitate to recommend it. LGR

    Military Collector Show G-1

Actually, it's a 48 and I wear a 44, so passed it by. I thought about buying to resell to someone looking for a nice G-1 in that size. The seller only lives about 100 miles from me and I have his number so there could still be a chance to help someone out.
