I agree! Great photo. Those jackets were short but it didn’t matter over a flight suit. My Avirex was longer than the original so it was fine with Khaki’s underneath. It went just below the belt line. I say again, my favorite jacket to wear with the uniform.

Mine is from Avirex. I believe I bought it in 1984. It was the only repro of that jacket that I could find.

Hey Jorge, only a few active pilots patched up the back of their jacket and they would do it on only one of their jackets. Usually guys who were LT CDRs or higher. They would have been in two sea tour squadrons and one shore duty squadron. Maybe a Topgun graduate, two different Airwings, two...

This picture of an A-1 with the Tophatter emblem is from a shop in Paris called T-Bird. They stock ELC jackets among others. Lots of motorcycle gear also.
