    As far as getting rid of "Ads" on the websites... I use "AdBlock Plus" or ABP for months now. I get the add on download for free with Firefox... gets rid of about 98% of all the adds, except maybe a few adds pertaining to what I'm searching for... and that's only two or three adds at the most...
