    Those of us in Michigan

I’m just a few hours away, over the bridge in Ontario, so similar or a bit colder weather. I sold my B3 a few years ago, kept the D1. If it’s cold enough around here for a B3 then the B9 parka is a better option.

Modify my Schott Perfecto? Or swap it out?

My first real motorcycle jacket, when I was 18, was a Perfecto style with the belt. The belt is truly a nuisance, and does present the real threat of scratching the gas tank on a cafe racer, so I removed it. That was about 30 years ago. I still have the jacket, but it rarely gets worn these days.

    Welcome To “The Bargain Basement”

I received my RL rough-out boots today. Nice looking boots, seam solid. Unfortunately they are only a D width which isn’t going to cut it, and they aren’t available in wider widths. Luckily Softmoc has a no hassle return policy, so they’ll be going back.

    Welcome To “The Bargain Basement”

I just ran across this thread. I searched for the RL rough outs on their site, nothing, however, they’re on sale at Soft Moc in Canada for $99.99 Canadian, which is about $75.00 US with the exchange rate. Any Canadians interested in these boots should check it out while they still have stock!

Good B-11 and B-9 Parka repros?

When the mercury drops and the wind howls my go to parka is an Eddie Bauer B9. They “reintroduced” it about 10 years ago, when EB still made decent quality stuff, complete with AAF shoulder logo. Not a perfect copy, but super warm, and very well built. B

    B-6 ELC vs AERO

A B-6 will be plenty warm for temps in the range of 0C. I wear a D-1 (same weight fleece) easily in -5 to -10C Canadian winters with a wool sweater. The B-3 almost never needs to come out. B

Look at what that conman on Fleabay is doing now!

I don't get all the outrage. The add sure looks like he’s looking for a particular label and is willing to trade or buy one if you’ve got it. The $1,000,000 price tag is just an attention getter. If he wants the label to complete a proper restoration, fine, if it’s to attached to something else...

Beard or no beard.... ( uuups touchy... I know...)

I’ve had beards, or a goatee for decades, don’t really care if it’s period correct for the jacket. However... if you have an A-2 contract with a collar stand, the collar hook is lifted to the perfect point to snag your beard, can be really painful. B

Who else now prefers the A1 to the A2

I’ve had a couple of A1’s, just wasn’t my thing, and sold them. Still have a few A2’s and I suspect I always will. B

    RAF gunners gloves

Hey All, I was in a local antique store today and they had what they claimed to be WWII RAF cold weather gunners gloves. They are brown leather 4 fingered line gloves, (3 fingers and a thumb). The outside 2 fingers go in the same “finger”. I have seen many such gloves/ mits where the outside 3...
