Custom Lost Worlds "Speed Demon" #1

I, too, like the elimination of the center seam. I also like the way you eliminated the belt and the hardware to give it a cleaner look.

    Identify this Cloth/Nylon Flight Jacket?

Thanks guys; evidently that was too easy. In UncleGrumpy's post of the bio, it mentioned he was a 104 test pilot after he left the military. As that is the F-104 he is standing in front of, it all comes togther. He was out of the military and a civilian test pilot, wearing a civilian test...

    Identify this Cloth/Nylon Flight Jacket?

This was posted on another forum and no one was able to identify the flight jacket being worn. It doesn't look like any of the nylon/cloth flight jackets issued ater the A-2 was discontinued, and some were thinking it might have been a modified flight suit top. Sorry for the small size of the...

1962 USN Extreme Cold Weather Jacket A-1.

I have had one for a number of years, without the removable liner. A warm coat that keeps the wind and rain off. Mine isn't rubberized, but has a nylon type shell. Seems to breathe OK. A practical work jacket in wet and cold weather.

Good job. Did you find instructions online, or just fly by the seat of your pants? I have a 1967 Satellite that is ready for a knit job.

    P-51 Memories

A good story. What I couldn't definitively tell from the video was whether this February was the same aircraft (tail number) that Jim Brooks flew in WWII. The story made it appear as if it were the same one, but I think the odds of Lt. Brooks' neighbor finding and restoring the same aircraft...

    Aero Highwayman sizing??

I had just the opposite experience. My Highwayman was a close fit. I am a 42, and the jacket was a small 42 with no room for layering. The chest and shoulders are tight on me. Also the arms are a bit short. I ordered arms the same length as a 44 jacket, and for riding a motor, I really need...

    Patching question

Yes, that is the Wildcats (A Company) company patch. It should be worn on the right side of the chest. See the photograph of my flight jacket below. The Battalion is the 228th, and they have a patch as well. I believe that patch would properly be worn by Battalion Headquarters types, and not...

    Patching question

I'm not sure I understand the distinction between the unit patch and the company patch. I would have thought they would be the same. Evidently not. OK, now that I have reread and thought about your post, I believe the 228th to be the Battalion level unit and A Company to be the company...
